Do you have an old machine? We can Update it!

Galco Industrial Electronics can retrofit obsolete CNCs on machine tool mills, grinders, lathes and routers with FANUC FA America products. Machine tools represent significant capital investments and must maintain their viability for many years. Keeping them updated with the latest control technologies via CNC retrofit is one way to do that successfully today. A CNC retrofit includes upgrades to the CNC, the servo motors and drives, the spindle motor and drives, and a portion of the associated wiring and related electromechanical components. Unlike rebuilding and remanufacturing, a CNC retrofit does not include any major repairs to the machine mechanics, so the machine itself is otherwise still in working condition.

Assuming the machine tool is generally in good shape mechanically, CNC retrofitting is typically the lowest cost solution to improve the overall performance of an older machine tool. Most of the work can be completed at the machine site, avoiding costly machine rigging and transportation costs, and minimizing the time that the machine is out of commission.
A retrofit will cost just a fraction of the total of purchasing a new machine. The lifetime estimate includes not only the differences in purchase price for a whole new machine, but also the additional costs of any new tooling requirements, transportation and rigging, modifications or replacement of part programs and processes, and the associated training for the operators and maintenance personnel. When savings are taken into account, versus leaving the equipment as is and accepting the current availability and performance of an outdated machine tool, a CNC retrofit can quickly pay for itself. The updated machine can perform with better quality, better efficiency, and better uptime.
FANUC CNCs can be found on machine tools in virtually every industry from highly complex 5-axis applications to woodworking routers to waterjets to additive manufacturing. FANUC feature-rich systems have a wide variety of options to choose from so you only purchase the features you need.
